Marbet's Cinco De Mayo Miami Jalapeno Mezcal Margarita

May 5, 2022

Happy Cinco De Mayo!  Margaritas are one of Mexico's most popular cocktails. This special holiday, which celebrates the Mexican victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla, is the perfect occasion to try out a new margarita recipe. In celebration, Marbet Lewis, Co-Founder of Spiritus Law, is sharing her highly coveted and VERY famous Miami Jalapeno Mezcal Margarita Recipe.

Follow the steps below to create your very own right at home.

What You'll Need:

2 tablespoons chopped jalapeño pepper

2 tablespoons amber agave syrup

¼ cup mezcal

¼ cup fresh lime juice

3 tablespoons triple sec

⅛ teaspoon kosher salt

Ice

Lime wedges & jalapeño slices for garnish

What To Do:

Step 1)  Place jalapeño and agave syrup in a cocktail shaker.

Step 2)  Muddle with a wooden spoon handle or a muddling tool, pressing on the jalapeño to release its flavor.

Step 3)  Add mezcal, lime juice, triple sec and salt. Half-fill the shaker with ice; cover and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds.

Step 4)  Strain the mixture evenly into 2 ice-filled rocks glasses. Garnish with lime wedges and jalapeño slices, if desired.

Step 5)  Enjoy!
